We started Bramble after working together at Wefarm, scaling a global community of 3.5 millions of farmers; sharing knowledge and helping each other succeed as business owners. Wefarm became the largest wiki of small-scale farmer knowledge, with over 50 million data points of advice, questions, and insights shared. 

The story of Wefarm didn’t end happily. In the midst of Covid, our funding ran out while we waited on promises from potential lead investors. Many lessons were learnt, many of which we’ll talk about here - at Bramble. But one of them is: community is valuable. In any niche. And we knew that the four of us were a superteam with complementing experience and so many insights, learnings, and networks that we were eager to share widely. Wefarm taught us the power of community, and through Bramble, we’re bringing it to the startup world. 

We each moved on to different startups, in full-time and advisory roles, talking to a lot of founders along the way. Many early stage founders shared the same challenges and frustrations with traditional consultants (and even investors) who give them general advice and high level textbook answers, that simply aren't applicable to their business and showed a lack of understanding about their business

We worked with founders and kept referring them to one or another based on the different practical support they needed. We also noticed that the same questions kept coming up. So after 18 months we decided that we should start Bramble Club - a place for us to support founders and operators with practicable and actionable advice based on real life experience. 

Why Bramble? Well, building a startup is a tough, long journey. You're gonna mess up along the way, face constant challenges, and probably have a few battle scars (you know… the thorns, in the bramble). But, when you finally reach your destination and make your dream a reality, the rewards are super sweet (you know… the berries, in the bramble). We've been through it all, and we're here to help you learn from our own bumps and bruises.

And Why Club? Our core belief is that the best advice to help founders and operators comes from people that have been where you are going before. Yes all startups are different - but all growth journeys follow similar highs, lows, and hurdles. Starting a business can often be a very lonely journey. We started Bramble as four founders with different skill and experiences and are building a global community of founders and operators supporting each other.
